Useful Information

Dimensional weight, also call "dim" weight, is used because the space a package takes on an aircraft may cost more than the package's actual weight. You should calculate dimensional weight on every shipment, compare that to its actual weight, and use the greater of the two to determine your shipping cost, using the the formulas below

Length x Width x height (Cubic Meter)*1000/6 = Dimension Weight in Kilograms.

Calculation of volume weight on Air Freight
Example:
1.20x0.40x0.60 M, gross weight = 30 kgs
volume weight is:
1.20x0.40x0.60 =  0.288 Cubic meter (CBM) or m3
(0.288*1000) / 6 = 48 volume kgs

Your volume weight is higher than the actual weight (48 kgs vs 30 kgs), therefore, your chargeable weight will be 48 kgs. The airlines charge based on both the actual weight and dimensional weight
